South Side Open Community Meetings for East Carson Business District Strategy

The purpose of these meetings is to report on the East Carson Street study’s key findings and to set up voluntary community task forces to develop work plans for initiatives to be taken in our business district.  Again, everyone is invited, including business owners, residents, property owners, students, public officials, patrons, and anyone else who wants to attend to offer ideas and make a commitment to work together for the benefit of the South Side.

Shop small businesses in South Side

The Historic South Side Business District welcomes everyone to shop at small businesses in the South Side on November 24th, Small Business Saturday!  You will find vintage treasures, handmade clothing, chic fashion and sidewalk apparel boutiques, and even bridal gowns. Find these and many other special holiday gifts for your loved ones and friends. South Side has an abundance of restaurants, bars, retail and specialty shops, and attractions for people of all ages.

May 27th OpenStreetsPGH in South Side

OpenStreetsPGH is a community event series happening on the last weekends of May, June, and July. Each event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The May 27, 2018 OpenStreetsPGH event in the South Side is the Downtown-Uptown-South Side Route.  While each of the three events expect to attract at least 30,000, last year South Side had over 34,000 participants.

OpenStreetsPGH comes to the South Side

The Open Streets movement is sweeping the globe and is entering its third year here in Pittsburgh!  In its first year, OpenStreetsPGH included the neighborhoods of Downtown, the Strip District and Lawrenceville.  Last year it expanded again into the Northside and the West End.  And, this year it will include a loop in Uptown and the South Side on Sunday, May 28th!
