Construction begins Monday, March. 18 on streetscape improvements, which will remove the section of sidewalk closest to curb to lay conduit for new lighting. Starting at S. 10th and S. 17th Streets and working eastward, work will take approximately 3 weeks per block. Passage will be available for pedestrians.
The City Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (DOMI) has contracted limited streetscaping work to be done from S. 10th to S. 25th Streets along East Carson Street in conjunction with scheduled pedestrian safety improvements to be performed by PennDOT.

The DOMI streetscaping improvements will consist of the following:
Street and pedestrian level lighting
Street trees and hanging baskets
Other incidentals, including exposed aggregate concrete restoration from behind the curb to the back edge of any tree pits, replacement of signage, and removal of old light fixtures

Tree planting: May 2020
The PennDOT pedestrian safety improvements will consist of the following:
Pedestrian bump outs and ADA upgrades at intersections
New pavement markings and signage
Milling and resurfacing of roadway
